Exciting opportunities await students after the launch of 360 Campus

University students will now have a new opportunity to interact with mentors, employers and interest groups thanks to the virtual forum € 360o Campus that was launched yesterday at the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS), Makerere University.
Speaking at the launch, Elise Orane, the US Mission in Uganda representative, said the United States government is committed to empowering the youth by availing avenues of directly engaging and partnering with them.

€œWith 360o Campus, we celebrate young leaders and this tool will be used to equip you with tools for success,€ she added. The US Mission in Uganda is supporting the initiative aimed at preparing Ugandan university students for their transition from school to the workplace. In association with the 360o Network Forum, the initiative will focus on leveraging the use of Social Media to enhance student career enhancing skills and knowledge.

David Lambert Tumwesigye, the 360o Network Promoter, said,€ We want students to know the importance of building and marketing their personal brands and we have planned several activities aimed at enabling the students come out of the university a better employee or entrepreneur who is internationally competitive.€

He added that they shall use various avenues to reach the youth, among them a University Magazine - The 360o Intern, information sharing clinics, providing career coaches and mentors and arranging apprentice programmes among others.

€œWe have a network of professionals committed to answering career questions posted online and helping with Psychometric, aptitude and IQ test guidance online,€ noted Lambert.

During the launch, Mr. Michael Niyitegeka, the CoCIS Head of Corporate Relations and Ms. Seanice Kacungira, the CEO of Blu Flamingo shared with the students on how to €œ Use Social Media for Career and Business€ and  how to €œ Manage Your Identity on Social Media€ respectively.
