Students who have been attending a mobile applications training organized by Nokia have developed applications to be included on the Nokia OVI store. The students displayed some of their projects like Mobile micro credit, Right on time, Get ma Phone, SMS search, Chat zone, Kwepena, SMS encryption, Credit validation System and Mobile traveler, at Protea hotel on 9th May 2011. These projects will be taken up by Nokia and loaded on its platform. Over 30 mobile applications have been approved for further development under this arrangement.
The three months training was conducted by the College of Computing and Information Sciences. This initiative will make it possible for the general public to use Ugandan mobile products world over, improving the visibility of the local software developers in this country.
