Undergraduate Courses Requirements

To be admitted to any programme, candidates MUST fulfill the general Makerere University entry requirements for the respective programmes. In addition, candidates MUST fulfill the following requirements for programmes in the Faculty of Computing and IT.

Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes:

Programme Direct Entry Diploma
Diploma in Computer Science and Information Technology At least 2 principal passes in any subject, at the same sitting in UACE At least a credit diploma from a recognized Institution
BSc. in Computer Science

1.) At least a subsidiary pass in mathematics in UACE

2.) At least 2 principle passes at the same sitting in UACE in any of the following subjects (Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Technical Drawing, and Food & Nutrition).

1.)At least a second class (Lower Division) diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Studies, Information Technology, Statistics or any other Diploma with either Mathematics of Computer Science or Information Technology as one of the subjects from any recognized institution.

2.)An equivalent of a diploma in Computer Science e.g. CCNA

Bachelor of Information Technology At least 2 principle passes in any subject, at the same sitting in UACE. At least a second class (lower division) diploma in any discipline or its equivalent such as CCNA from a recognized institution.
Bachelor of Information Systems At least 2 principle passes in any subject (Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Physics, Biology, Chemistry), at the same sitting in UACE. At least a second class (Lower Division) diploma in Computer Science, or any other Diploma with business and computing aspects from a recognized institution.
Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering

1.)At least 2 principle passes pass in either mathematics or physics at the same sitting in UACE.

2.)At least 2 principle passes pass in one of the following subjects (Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Fine Art).

At least a second class (lower division) Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or any other diploma with either a Mathematics or Computer Science, as one of the subject from any recognized institution
